privacy notice.

what we collect, why, and how to turn it off.

the short version

this site collects anonymous, aggregated traffic data through google analytics so we know which pages people actually use. that's it. we don't sell data, we don't run ads, we don't share information with third parties beyond what's listed below.

if you decline analytics in the banner at the bottom of the page, none of it loads. you can change your mind at any time by clearing this site's storage in your browser (the banner will reappear on next visit).

what we collect, and why

1. google analytics (gtag.js)

if you accept the consent banner, google analytics 4 records: page views, time on page, referring url, approximate geographic region (country, city), device type and browser, and a randomised visitor id so we can tell repeat visits from new ones. ip addresses are anonymised before storage. data is retained for 14 months. it sits on google's servers; their privacy notice applies in addition to this one (see policies.google.com/privacy).

if you decline, no analytics cookies are stored and no identifiable data is sent. we still receive a "consent denied" ping so we can count a hit, but it carries no information that identifies you.

2. the contact form

when you submit the contact form, the data (name, email, optional company, project location, project type, message) is sent through formspree.io to info@entropica-lab.com. formspree retains the submission for the duration of our subscription. their privacy notice applies (see formspree.io/legal/privacy-policy). we keep correspondence in our regular inbox for as long as it's relevant to the project, then delete it.

3. site hosting

the site is hosted on github pages. github stores standard web server logs (ip, timestamp, user-agent, requested url) for operational and security purposes. we do not have access to those logs. their privacy notice applies (see github.com/site-policy).

what we don't do

  • we don't sell your data to anyone, ever.
  • we don't show ads or use ad cookies.
  • we don't use cross-site or cross-device tracking.
  • we don't run remarketing pixels (facebook, linkedin, etc.).
  • we don't use session recording or heatmap tools.

your rights

you can ask us at any time what data we have about you, ask for it to be corrected or deleted, or withdraw consent. for the contact form, that means asking us to delete the email thread. for analytics, deleting your browser cookies for this site removes your visitor id; for a full deletion request against google's servers, see google's data deletion guide.

write to info@entropica-lab.com with "privacy" in the subject line.

changes to this notice

we'll update the "last updated" date at the top if anything changes. material changes (adding a new third-party service, for instance) we'll also call out via the consent banner.
