who we are
entrópica is an energy-first design lab founded by josé barría in may of 2020. we exist to make buildings perform better, from the earliest sketch to the final detail. founded in panamá, we bring architecture, engineering, and data together to reduce energy use, cut costs, and improve comfort.
we are not a certification body or a marketing service. we are architects and consultants who design with performance as the starting point, not the afterthought.
every project should meet the climate challenge with science, creativity, and measurable results.
why it matters
buildings consume most of the world’s energy, and in the tropics the cost is even higher. every inefficient design locks in decades of waste, higher bills, and unnecessary emissions.
sustainability without data is just greenwashing. entrópica makes performance measurable, so design decisions translate into real impact: lower operating costs, healthier spaces, and buildings that last in a changing climate.

we often present our projects in rainy or overcast conditions as a reminder that climate is the starting point. at entrópica, performance begins with understanding the environmental realities a building will face. weather, light, and seasonal change shape comfort, energy use, and long-term resilience.
